They are out there - "Sellers be Thankful for Winter Buyers"

sellers be thankful for winter buyers
Although spring and summer are the high times for selling a home, buyers can be enticed to come out during the winter months too.

Don't be afraid of the season; embrace it and offer some incentives to get buyers into your home. Maybe a carpet allowance or an appliance upgrade allowance will do the trick. There is less competition for home selling during the winter, and that means your home will be highlighted.

Make sure your home is ready to sell by cleaning and sprucing it up. Make sure your heating system is up to par, along with your roof and clean gutters. Don’t be afraid to use holiday decorations. If a buyer walks into your home with all its holiday bling, they might be more interested in the home. Make sure there are no cold drafts flowing through your home. If a potential buyer feels warm and cozy, so might their pocketbook.

During the winter, real estate agents have less clients and can focus the clients they do have on your home. This means they can take more time to show homes and discuss deals with their buyers. Winter buyers are serious buyers.

Here are some other facts that Refin found after doing a bit of research. A home for sale in winter has a 9 percent better chance of selling, and will sell a week faster than in other seasons. Also, it will sell for 1.2 percent more than list price when compared to homes sold during other seasons.

So if you are in the market to sell, don't be afraid of winter. I can help you stage and market you home to ensure that you get the best price.

"Abundance Abounds" Count your Blessings - What are you thankful for?

count your blessings - what are you thankful for?
Now that we have turned the calendar over to November, the Thanksgiving Holiday is going to be quick upon us. And as I was thinking about that, I started thinking about what I was thankful for. So here goes my list of things of which to be thankful.

  • First and always, be thankful that you are still living (to read my blog...LOL).
  • Be thankful for family. Everyone may not always get along with everyone else, but who else will have your back when you need it?
  • If you have kids, be thankful that they are healthy and enjoying life. Check in with them every chance you get.
  • Be thankful you have a roof over your head at night. And if you are in need of a roof, let me know, I can help you find one.
  • If you have pets, in lieu of children, be thankful they are healthy and making your day brighter with each wag of their tail…or meow…or tweet.
  • In this economy, be thankful you are able to pay your bills each month. I know it can get hard and there may not be much left at the end of the month, but be thankful that you are able to write that check.
  • Be thankful for the small things. A hello or a smile from a stranger. Someone holding a door for you when you enter a building. Someone there to pick up something you have dropped.
  • And finally, remember when you are sitting around that table at Thanksgiving to take a moment and think about the previous year and all the good things that have happened that have made you thankful.
Here's wishing you and yours a Happy Holiday!
