Greenville Market Update

Thought I would take a bit of time in this post to cover what's happening with the Greenville local real estate market. Nationally, there has been an increase in listing prices for homes in what we would call "Hot Markets." These markets include Portland (6) Oregon, Detroit (9) Michigan, Salt Lake City (4) Utah, Kansas City (3) Missouri,  Nashville (8), Tennessee, Dallas-Fort Worth (7), Austin (1), Houston (5) and San Antonio (10) all in Texas, Fort Meyers-Naples (2) and West Palm Beach in Florida and San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego in California. Numbers behind cities denote their Top 10 position.
Here in Greenville SC, our average listing price for the week ending May 1 was $267,054. Median sales price for Feb - April 2013 was $132,000 an increase over last year of 0.5%. We have 1,376 homes for sale with 910 foreclosures.
